Our Grand Plans
The Pony Club has embarked on a fairly ambitious but achievable development plan. Over the next few years, we are going to construct / install infrastructure at the Reserve that has been sadly lacking for some time.
The first stage of this development was the construction of our new 70x30 "Yard". This will predominantly be used by our least experienced riders to ensure that they have a safe environment to ride. However it is large enough for us to use it as a dressage arena or for other exercises that may require restricting horses movements somewhat, such as bareback and vaulting lessons.
Stage two of our project is a 70 x60 Showjumping arena, which will also allow to use it as 3 dressage arenas. Initial work to mark out the area and poison of the grass has already been completed and we are now just waiting on the Ballan weather gods to provide us with some improved conditions, in order for the excavators to be able to come in without destroying the rest of the reserve. The planned completion of this Arena is by the end of 2013.
Stage 3 of the development is 2 Dressage arenas, which once complete, will bring our total Dressage facilities to 6 (including the SJ and Yard). During this phase we will also be making a Games field, which will provide us with a fantastic area to run these style of events. This planned to be completed by the end of 2014.
Last but certainly not least and in fact may not be last, becuase we may change the order of our Plans is a Grade 1 Cross Course to add to our existing facilities this is due to be completed if all goes to plan by the end of 2015.
